The regulatory framework
Work at height is governed by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development occupational safety regulations, reinforced by client standards from Aramco, SABIC, Ma'aden and major contractors, which usually reference ANSI or EN machine standards.
The five documents auditors ask for
Third-party thorough examination certificate, load test certificate, operator training certificate, machine familiarisation record and a task-specific rescue plan. Missing any one of these is the most common reason a machine is stood down on arrival.
Practical compliance
Keep certificates in the machine, not in an office. Record daily pre-use checks. Ensure harnesses have current inspection tags and that the rescue plan names the trained ground person on that shift.
